How do I stay aligned with God in each new season?

You made a good point about how parenting changes as kids grow up. You wouldn't treat a 5-year-old the same way you would when they're all grown up, right? But no matter what, that love from the parents doesn't change. It's like how we're told to have a child-like heart when we're with God, but then there's that verse in 1 Cor. 13:11 about putting childish ways behind you.
So, I'm wondering if I can get so caught up in my meditations that I miss the memo that God's doing something new. And how do I know when to switch things up and get on the same page with God?
How do I know when to switch things up and get on the same page with God? I believe that if you are actively following someone, you don't have to switch things up. You're just going where they're going. It is like having a GPS. The Google Map says, in 100 metres, turn right, enter Michael Olubode Street, and turn left. Right?
If you're following the Holy Spirit, always checking with him, and following his promptings, you will always be on track. I remember hearing a message from Apostle Arome in WAFBEC 2023, and he said one of the ways that God is going to show the ministries that are relevant to his purpose is by how well they can keep up with what he's doing per time.
And how you know is a ministry that is working with techniques—that is, they find a method that will “bring in people” and “get people excited"—those different techniques that people do in their carnal strength that make it “seems like it’s working"—that's how we will know those that are following God. Because, after a while, there will be no light there, and it will just fizzle out. He said in his time he has seen many ministries like that—at one point it looked like there was light, but it fizzled out after a while—because there wasn't a constant gaze on the Lord.
If we are always asking God, “What are you doing?” And by asking him to check if our hearts are in the right place, we will open ourselves to correction by the Holy Spirit and readjustment when necessary. God is always dynamic, and it was revealed in the wilderness. When the spirit of God rests upon the tabernacle as a cloud, they will make their tent. When it lifts and begins to move, it moves.
You can't put God in a box. So you see, in the past 100 years, there have been so many moves and so many dispensations that have come about, and in each season, based on the needs of the time, God has become what he needs to become when he needs to become it.
Our job is to always ask the Holy Spirit, “Where are you? ” “What are you doing? ” The strength of Jesus Christ's ministry was that he was always watching for what the master was doing. That's why one day he will heal someone with his speech; on another day, he will heal someone with a lean hand. You couldn't put him in a box, and it's so funny how people read those stories; they now put it in a box. It's okay, this miracle you just performed; show me where Jesus Christ did it like that. As if everything Jesus Christ did was captured in the Bible, and as if the things captured were the only ways God could manifest through Jesus.
I know there's a place where we make sure we don't stray off course (we have to check the spirit); it is by the spirit that we’ll know. Sometimes the manifestation might not look like what has been done before, but when you discern the manifestation, you will know that it's the same spirit.
So God is dynamic. And if you keep our gaze upon him and keep on asking him, “What are you doing?” “This thing I'm doing, are you still here?” “Is it still what you want me to do?” If we have that humility to keep on checking with the Lord, as though we don't know anything, we will always find ourselves where He is.
