How do you maintain a state of meditation when all prophecies and dreams of victory shown to you concerning a matter have been unfulfilled?

How does one maintain constancy before God when one has personally seen things in the spiritual concerning a certain matter but it has remained unfulfilled?

Does this mean this person is not seeing right or the prophecies told by people, which the Lord Himself has confirmed in the mouth of 2 or 3 and even personally to the hearer, were untrue?

I know God is not a liar but how do we explain these situations that threaten our identities and constancy before God, especially when you are dealing with one health issue after another, thus negating prophecies shared and witnessed?

Transcript of answer

Friend, it is well with you. I can very much understand the frustrations that one might feel when one has received prophetic words and it's as though, "Lord, why hasn't this thing come to pass?" The Lord is on your side.

Let me first start by saying that there's something we call prophetic processing, where we carry out intentional steps regarding a prophetic word that we have received. Obviously, the first thing we do according to the scriptures is write down a vision and make it plain, where we have something to meditate upon.

Because God doesn't just give us prophetic words just to tell us the future; He gives us prophetic words in order for us to act in accordance with that future that we have seen. Because whatever vision that we are shown by God is not something that will come to pass outside of our efforts.

A simple example is the story of Jonah, where God sent Jonah to prophesy destruction in Nineveh. The Bible talks about how when the people of Nineveh repented of their evil ways, God also repented of the judgment He was going to bring upon them. Meaning that whatever prophecy is given of the future still needs our input for it to come to pass or for it not to come to pass.

And I'm right now reminded by the Holy Spirit of the time when Paul was admonishing Timothy and he told him to contend concerning the prophecies that have been given to you. Now, this contention involves a great deal of things.

First of all, there's a place of prayer and warfare because we live in a world where there is what we call spiritual opposition. That is, there are things, there are hierarchies, there are powers that exist in this world that will go the extra mile to ensure that whatever word God has spoken to you will not come to pass. So, therefore, we cannot be people who are passive with words that God has given to us. There has to be some active role we must play in order to bring it to pass.

The first thing we want to do is to write it down and make it plain so that we have a destination to meditate upon and keep our gaze on it. Now, there's a place of prayer where we begin to, by the Spirit of God, pray these things into manifestation. Right? Where we contend in the spirit to ensure that all the causes that are needed for this thing to materialize are in activity. Are you following me?

Beyond writing it down, beyond praying, of course, there is that part of testing the word. Amen. Which should actually come after writing it down, where you test the word that you've been given according to scripture and also according to the burden of the Lord shared around people that are trusted prophetic voices around you.

Beyond that, you have to ask yourself, for example, if God says, "Oh, I'm going to make you or you're going to be a prolific engineer, a global engineer that is going to bring about solutions in the engineering space," for example. Now, that's a prophetic word, right? Worth writing down, worth meditating upon. And this is something that I'm going to teach a lot in module 4 concerning imagination. Right? So that's worthy of writing down, worthy of meditating upon, worthy of contending for in prayer.

But there are things that you ought to do in this physical world that are steps that will lead you to that prophecy materializing. Of course, if you're going to be a global engineer, quote-unquote, obviously the first thing you want to do is get some training in engineering. So God gives us a word and says, "This is where I'm taking you; this is what's going to happen." The question we ought to ask is, "What can I do in this present moment that is a part of that future that I've seen?"

A simple example is this: if you say, "I need your jollof rice in my house," right? And it's only you living at home, and let's say you don't have anybody you can call to make jollof rice for you. For that jollof rice to appear on your table, first of all, you have to go to the market. Right? It's in the market or supermarket. Buy the ingredients, quote-unquote, come back home, right? Prep the meal, cook it, and plate it.

Leaving your house, going to the market, haggling with the marketperson, or just going to buy your groceries straight from the supermarket—all of those things are part of that final destiny of the plate being on your table. And if one is not intentional about carrying out those steps that lead to that foreseen end, there is no way that the foreseen can come to pass.

So one thing I always tell people, especially with prophetic words, is that you want to ask the Lord and even by yourself, with the knowledge that God has given to you, contemplate what things you can begin to do in this very moment that is part of that future that God has shown me.

Because nature does not take leaps and bounds; everything is from one stage and one process to another. So God shows you a picture of a final destination, but there are 40 steps between now and that destination. What is the first step that you ought to take?

Now you get my point. So no matter how grand a vision God has shown us, there is something that we can do now that is a part of that aid that we are looking for. So that's something you want to inquire about.

And beyond all that, you must remember that we live in a world that is antagonistic to anyone who is walking the path of Christ. We can't expect that any vision, any dream that God gives to us, will just come and fall into the palm of our hands. So, there is that place for contention—contention in prayer, contention in fighting for that vision to not leave your mind, for you not to lose faith, contention in the right action that is relevant to where God has called you to.

All right, so these are a few things that I hope will give you some assistance and help in your own journey. God bless you.
