How do I meditate all day?

How do we constantly stay in the posture of meditation with confidence and not doubting the voice we are hearing while taking off that mental barrier that it's only certain questions or areas of our lives we can speak to God about?
I know the course just started but what are the practices we can incorporate daily, as we seek Him in all areas of our lives?
It is well with you, my friend. I'll start by saying that every creature is a product of the environment that it dwells in, you see. One of the ways to remain in a constant state of meditation is by the kind of environment you surround yourself with, you see. And that's one of the reasons why the Bible says a believer should not forsake the gathering of the brethren, because in that place there is a cohesive energy formed when you have a group of people moving in one direction. In a sense, that's a kind of meditation happening, right?
For example, you go to a college of medicine, and you have 10 classmates who are so intentional about getting a perfect GPA. That drive to be on the president's list of that institution is a kind of meditation, and injecting yourself in such a space can move your sight in that place and make it very difficult for you to divert your attention. So one of the first ways we can help ourselves to have a general meditation for life is by having the right community. It's by being around people who are moving in line with where we're trying to go to, you see.
And in relationship to, you know, confidence in the voice of God. Well, two things:
Expose yourself to the Word of God, right? Because you can only know a person by knowing the person. It's just like your parent, right? Someone cannot just come and say, Oh, I'm your dad, and talk to you. When you hear the voice, the texture is different, and the tone is different. Even if the person took your dad's phone and started chatting with you; you have an idea of, you know, your dad's language, your mom's language, and you can tell that this is not the person. The same is true with God.
We grow in discernment as we get to know Him, and we get to know Him through scriptures and through verified teachers of the Word who can communicate His attributes, nature, and character to us.When that happens, you start to realize, oh, wait, oh, that thought that came into my heart that told me to apologize, oh, that was God. Oh, that thought that said, Oh, why did you lie? Oh, wow, that was God. And you discover that the more you start to obey that subtle nudging that comes into your heart every now and then, the more the voice gets stronger and stronger, and the more obeying the voice produces positive results in your life, the more you become confident.
This thing called faith, it does not, it doesn't just fall on us like that. It's from actually getting to know God that you follow Him. Faith is a progressive thing; it is a living thing; it is a fruit of the Holy Spirit that grows inside of us, right? That expands in the place of obedience and seeing firsthand the outcome of obeying the voice of God, right?
So, one, stay in a good community, in good company that can help to keep you in line and move you towards a particular direction that God has for you. Two, expose yourself to the study of scriptures and also expose yourself to verified teachers of the Word who can help to relate to you God's nature and character. When you know God's nature and character, you also know what is not his nature and character.
So, when a contrary voice ministers in your heart, you know this: my God cannot, cannot tell me to do this kind of thing. And over the years, as you begin to be intentional about this, the voice gets stronger and stronger, and you will know for a fact how God speaks to you.
As for your second question, the daily assignment I've given to you is the beginning. Do you follow me? That's a very simple practice and I encourage that you actually start with it. There are some things I'm going to tell us on Saturday, especially about basics.
Leonardo da Vinci said mastery is the relentless execution of the basics. You find people who are great at cooking, at football, at boxing. When you watch them in their laboratory, you will discover how these people, they never get tired of doing things that one would consider to be basic and simple. Because it's there that a lot of power is gained. So, this daily assignment I've given to you, please don't underestimate it. What you will produce inside of you is later you will realize. So, start that as a daily practice. It is well with you, my friend.
