When you are praying and instructions or ideas begin to jump at you like a flood. Does it mean you stop and start writing? Usually when it was one instruction I remember after my prayers but this time it rushed at me and I couldn’t keep up. I wrote but since after then I am yet to get this kind of experience. Wondering if I handled it well.

Transcript of answer

Anybody who wants to grow in the prophetic ministry must fall in love with this thing called journaling. That we have the Bible is a testament to how important journaling and writing things down are to God.

It is actually expected that when we engage God in prayer, he begins to enter into our minds with thoughts, with ideas, with words, with images. It is expected for that to happen. Pray and let the ideas keep flowing. Let it keep flowing. When the prayer comes to an end, all that came into your heart you write down. That's a normal process. That's how our prayer life should be.

We pray. We ask the Holy Spirit to give, to minister something to us, to tell us something. And as we ask him, we write it down. That should be the process because your prayer must have a response from God. Prayer is not a one-way street. It's a two-way street. We engage the Lord. We come before him. And as we say things to him, there's also a great expectation that he is also going to say something to us. And so in every time of prayer, there should be a moment of listening.

Yes, it gets to a point where we can actively listen, right? Where you are praying, but as you're praying, as you're doing that, you listen to the Holy Spirit. And the speech is more of what you use to activate your inner man and open up your inner man. Amen? To begin to become more receptive to the Holy Spirit. That's part of the reason why we speak in tongues, right? First of all, it's to douse the natural senses and to just help us shift our gaze from outward things to things of the Spirit.

At that moment, when our heart is fixed upon the Lord, we can then begin to receive words, receive images, and learn to ask the Holy Spirit questions. Many a time, we don't hear from God because we don't actually ask questions. I know it might sound crazy, but I want us to practice this.

Anybody that's listening, when you pray, ask. And when you ask, write down what you feel you received. After writing it down, review it in light of the Word of God. And if you have a prophetic company, show them this is what I've received. Because that's how we're supposed to test spirits.

But you see, if we're always afraid that God can't talk to me, everything that might come out of me is fake, and this and that, we never get a chance to develop what we call the prophetic muscle. It's a muscle. If we don't work on it, it doesn't grow. If we work on it, it grows. Right?

So, practice that. When you pray, say, "Lord, I want to hear from you." And begin to engage in prayer. Begin to speak in tongues. Begin to sing spiritual songs, right? And ask the Holy Spirit to minister to you.

Sometimes he may minister in the place of prayer. Sometimes he may minister after prayer. Sometimes he may minister maybe later, and you just realize, "Oh my God, I see that this thing has entered my heart now; it's a product of that type of prayer." You write it down. You write it down.

Every single prophetic person has to have a prophetic journal. If you see my journal, there are almost 3,000 entries inside. Do you get my point? This is how we're supposed to live our lives.

So, we have to pen things down. We'll pen it. We'll review it by the Holy Spirit, and we test it. That's how we begin to grow. And we now become very familiar with the method through which God communicates with us. And then we grow as prophetic people.

So, it's normal that when you pray, ideas enter. That's actually what's supposed to happen. Because God doesn't just communicate with a loud, audible voice. Sometimes he communicates with feelings. Sometimes he communicates with colours, with sounds. Sometimes he communicates with just thoughts that enter our heads that have no point of origin in us. So, it's worthwhile to know this. God bless you.

I don't think that your prophetic gate has closed. It hasn't closed. Sometimes we start to feel anxious. We start to feel bad when it's gone. And it's that feeling that actually makes it go away. Even tonight, practice this thing again. You see, God will begin to minister to you. Be free. Don't tell him what you want to hear. You hear what he wants to tell you. You understand? And you see, for this very night, try it out. And you're going to see that God will minister to you. It is well with you, my dear. God bless you.
