Good day, Rabbi. Thank you for this opportunity. Last year, I experienced something strange. I was sleeping in the night, and I'm the only one in my room, but then I began to perceive a floral scent like perfume.

It was so strong that it woke me up from sleep, but I was too scared to open my eyes because I'm the only one in the room and the room was dark. Months later, it happened again. I was sleeping and suddenly woke up from sleep, and as I couldn't sleep back, I started listening to a sermon and slept off.

I had a dream or not, but it felt so real. I felt someone leaving my bedside and went back again. It became faster and faster, and I couldn't move again.

I felt myself drowning in it, and I was shouting my roommate's name, but she couldn't hear me. Then I started speaking in tongues, and then it stopped, and I started scenting that floral scent again, and I slept off. Fast forward this year; I was lying on the bed and sobbing because I was sad and hurt about something, and then the scent came up again.

Why am I smelling this scent when there is no visible source? What does this scent signify? Is there an unseen presence around me? Is this scent a positive or negative occurrence?

Transcript of answer

You see, my friend, what you're describing is not strange. In order for you to know whether it's a positive or negative thing? You have to be a bit bolder, you understand?

These days, the church is very afraid of a lot of things, and they've almost taught us to fear anything that is beyond the scope of our understanding. Because of that, once you have anything extra normal or supernatural, our first response is terror and not boldness to confront certain things. Are you following me?

Everything physical has a counterpart in the spirit; that is 100% factual. Everything physical has a metaphysical expression, whether sound, smell, or taste. That's why in the dream, you can taste things, you can smell things, because these things are not just physical; they are also spiritual. And in very good respects, spirits do have sense. They have colours and so on.

There are even more colours in the realm of the spirit than we have in the physical world. So, all these things have various kinds of meanings. Now, spirits do have a scent. Are you following me?

When Isaac was praying over Jacob, when he was giving him the inheritance, the Bible said he laid hands on him, and he prayed upon him until he made the statement saying, "You have the scent of a field that the Lord God has blessed."

That was not a physical scent; now that was what you call a spiritual scent. Are you following me? And if a person can have the scent of a field that God has blessed, you can, of course; life is always polarizing in nature, so there'll always be an opposite to that and so forth. So the concept of scent is not only physical; it's also spiritual as well.

Different people, you know, in different ways awaken senses unconsciously, and from what you're describing, you've awakened your sense of spiritual scent in a way, but I cannot tell you for sure what it was. I can't tell you whether it is evil; I can't tell you whether it is good. But what I will teach you in this program is how to be bold.

Because, yeah, I know in the beginning, though, we're just doing a lot of, you know, close your eyes, this and that. We're going to get a little bit deeper than what we've shared now, and we're going to begin to engage in a lot of spiritual realities. There are going to be several spiritual activations, and a lot of us will start having "quote-unquote" spiritual encounters; that's a fact.

Because even what you're describing when you say you were drowning, it's not like you were drowning. What was happening was that when we sleep at night, the soul leaves the body, and it moves around in the world of spirit and whatnot. And when your journey has ended, your soul returns to the body, okay? But when it returns to the body, it doesn't return fully. There are times when you wake up in between when the soul is just downloading itself in the body, and at that time, you know, maybe you can feel paralyzed, maybe feel like, you know, something is pressing you, something is drowning you.

Yes, there are instances where something might be pressing you, but most of the time, you just woke up while you were still in transition from the spirit world to the physical world. At that time, what we need is serenity and the boldness to pause and observe the moment. What is this thing that has entered my room? Because most times, we just scream, "Jesus, Blood of Jesus!"

I remember when my walk started; when I started having encounters in 2012, I remember the first time I had a very vivid memory of an angel walking into my room. I was terrified; in fact, I fainted when I saw him. Because I remember that time; it was like 5 a.m., and he walked into my room. His feet didn't touch the ground; he wore a white garment. And once I saw him, I was petrified. And once my eyes locked with his eyes—I can't forget that day; his eyes were like electricity; I just shouted, "Jesus," and I fainted.

When I woke up from that experience, because I didn't have equipoise and calmness, for a long time, I was debating whether it was a demon that attacked me or an angel who visited me. But of course, as different encounters started happening after that time, I then realized what that time was.

And there were subsequent moments where there would be an entrance of a spirit being, even if it was a demonic being. God taught me how to relax, as crazy as that sounds. Because the Bible says God has given us power over the serpents and scorpions and all the power over the enemy, right? And there's a kind of confidence, and I would look, "What is this? What is that?" And most of the time, it's not even an attack; it can be an angelic presence, and then a conversation can happen, an impartation can happen, something like that.

So what I'm saying is this: whether it's an evil or good experience, I don't know, all right? But what I can help you to do, well, first of all, I can tell you that scent is spiritual; it wasn't a physical scent you were smelling. That's one. Two, I can teach you how to become a bit bolder, especially in the face of spiritual encounters, right? Where we don't just have a memory of hysteria of an experience, but we come back with hardline data, whether it's God visiting or a demonic attack. We are conscious and present enough to get accurate data from that moment and to know exactly how to act accordingly. It is well with you.
