A few years after taking my Bible study and Christian walk seriously, I've been having very strange encounters; the most notable are instances where I wake up and, mid-awake, I can hear myself and someone having a conversation.

The conversation seemed like it was happening for a long time while I was asleep, and I only woke up to catch the last statement I said or he/it said (I don't know what pronoun to address this other person with; I don't even know who it is).

I also noticed that the conversations are mostly a 'question-and-answer type,' where I ask a question and the person responds or explains. Unfortunately, no matter how much I stay still when waking up, it's like that presence gradually leaves, or the conversation fades the more conscious I become.

The day that shocked me the most was when I woke up to hear myself and this person laughing and talking like friends, and  I felt like the third wheel waking up to stop their conversation. I honestly felt left out and confused.

With this backstory, my question is, please, how do I engage this? Why does it vanish the moment I'm waking up? Am I even meant to engage it? What kind of experience can I term this? Who is that person talking to me in my sleep? Am I on the right track or entering where I don't know? Is it scriptural?

I asked a few people around my church; some even mocked me, saying I had started astral projecting, until I joined this class and I feel it's a safe place to ask that kind of question.

Thank you so much for your time and patience with my question, sir🙏🏼

Your question is not strange, my friend, and it doesn't surprise me that when you sought answers regarding this, it was something that wasn't properly understood because I would say conventional Christianity, and I use the word conventional Christianity, is majorly afraid or, better said, ignorant of deeper realities of the spirit.

The avid Christian doesn't know and doesn't care to know the deeper intricacies of spiritual realities, and the moment they are confronted with something that is beyond the scope of their knowledge and understanding, they have a natural tendency to label it as evil, unnatural, or witchcraft, and well, thank God that you're here.

I mean, these are things I'm going to talk about as we go forward. In fact, in the coming weeks, when I begin to give some of us some meditative exercises to carry out, this is something that many people will start to testify to, saying, "Oh my God, I just closed my eyes, and after like three minutes, the next thing, I started having a conversation. I don't know who was talking, who was talking to me, and I can't remember what happened," and so on.

And one of the first things we realize is that this physical world is not the only world that exists. Even though that's all we've known for a long time, even though we are so attached to the physical world and science tells us that everything is this, this physical world is not the only world that exists. And our environment is more filled with things than we are aware of.

The issue is that we haven't trained our faculties enough to be, one, very perceptive of exactly what is in our immediate environment, and two, we haven't trained our memory well enough to be able to retain information of direct experiences of the spirit.

And this is something we're going to talk about, especially in module two, where we begin to give, you know, certain practices and exercises, especially to develop certain senses within ourselves, especially the memory, right? Because what you're describing, that you woke up and you forgot, is a very normal phenomenon, right? Because when we talk about the realm of the spirit, the realm of the spirit is, there is a kind of, quote-unquote, matter to it. That is, it's not physical, but it's not nothing. There's substance, right?

And in the same way that your memory can capture things in the physical realm, there's also a memory of spiritual things. The only difference is that the memory of spiritual things is a bit more subtle than the memory of physical things. And it's so easy for it to slip out of your grasp.

That's why you can have a dream; if you just jump out of your bed too quickly, or you just laugh, this and that, the key details of that dream will be immediately lost to you, unlike, I don't know, the memory of what you ate for breakfast and whatnot.

And because of that, there have to be intentional practices and  exercises to develop that center of yours that can help you to retain an accurate memory of everything that happens in the spirit. I mean, look at the book of Revelation. It was a whole book written purely from vision. How did that man have a memory so great that he could write 22 chapters of pure vision? It's clear that a lot of training had gone on the way, right?

And so, because on a normal day, all right, whether you know it or not, you're always interacting with things in the spirit, whether things that are good or evil. It's just that in the physical world, that reality is not so obvious because your body and your physical environment make you not aware of all the things that are happening within your inner life.

So physically speaking, you're sitting down, okay, and a thought enters your head to tell somebody, "Oh, I appreciate you." Or, "Oh, I never want to see you again." In your head, you think that it was just a thought that just arose inside of you, but you don't know that in spirit, there's something that sat down beside you and was telling you, "Hey, friend, why don't you tell that person that they are so ugly?" And in the realm of the spirit, you look at a person and say, "Yeah, it's true." This person is ugly. Yes, tell him he is ugly, and in a split second, you are not aware that that thought you had was a product of a full-blown conversation that happened in a split second.

In the realm of the spirit, time is different. Alright, in the physical world, it's a split second, but in the realm of the spirit, it's like a whole day's conversation. And that's why a person can go from 0 to 100, you know, based on some thought impulse that enters, right? And then you make out an action, but in actuality, there was something that you conversed with.

When we begin to develop our spiritual faculties and when we begin to gain a sense of awareness, then one of the first things we realize is, well, the beings that we are in communication with and what kind of interactions we have on a day-to-day basis.

Because I tell you, at any given moment, you are interacting with something; the issue is that we don't know it. Now, in the realm of the spirit, that interaction will be very obvious. For example, when you sleep at night and you dream, your consciousness is less involved in the physical realm and more involved in the realm of the spirit. And there, the realities of the inner life become more apparent. And on the physical realm, what looks like just an idea coming into your hands, in the realm of the spirit, can be painted as someone entering your house, sitting down by your bedside, and talking to you. Do you get my point?

But the issue is that most of us don't even know that such things happen. You just wake up, you're angry with your wife, you're angry with your husband, and you don't know that all throughout the night there was something that sat down beside you and was ministering evil to you.

On the flip side, you can just wake up one morning and say, "You know what, I want to go and be nice to my child; I want to go and give this thing to this person." You don't know that the Holy Spirit came, alright, and sat beside your bed and was telling you, "Hey, I think you should go and be nice to this person." That's how it happens. So every day there's interaction.

The challenge is that because we're so afraid, we don't develop the faculties to be able to pick these things. We have no ability to not just even explore that realm but even have a bit more control there. You understand?

So these are things that we're going to teach about, not to worry. Alright, so this is just me trying to give you a bit of context to those things that have happened to you, to let you know that it's not strange, alright, and it's not evil. Alright, nothing is absolutely good, and nothing is absolutely evil; it's what we make of it. Alright, it is well with you.
