When you sit and start seeing different pictures, what are you to do with those pictures? Let's say you see pictures of someone in pain or faces you don't recognise. What do you do? Also, if you see a short vision of something evil or a wicked person doing evil to others, what do you do? is just praying enough, or do you ask more questions? How do you sit with these visions and take actions?

Why do we also fall asleep sometimes while trying to meditate? Is it a lack of discipline? Are kids 8-10 years old mature enough to learn meditation?

Transcript of answer

The Lord is on your side, hallelujah. Let me start by saying that one of the ways that God speaks with us as his children is through the medium of images. There's a saying that a picture speaks a thousand words, and this is also true with God.

A lot of times, you know, many assume that God speaking in human language is the highest form of God speaking to a person, but in actuality, it's one of the lowest forms of God speaking to a person, you see, because that is him boxing himself within the confines of our own vocabulary, and God is much bigger than that. Hallelujah.

When God begins to call a person into intercession, one of the things that he starts to show them, and it could be many things. He could show them visions and pictures of things that are presently happening in order for them to intercede. He could show them visions of things that could potentially happen in order for them to intercede, because when we talk about intercession, intercession is what we as humans do to give God the legitimate right to interfere in the affairs of man.

Yeah, God is all-powerful; God is all-sovereign. But being the one who is the law that created this whole universe, he's not beneath or, better said, he's not above the laws that he has made because of him being an orderly being. Every law that God makes, he subjects himself to it, and being as we live in a world of men, if men don't want something to enter, God will not allow it to enter.

So, when God wants to intervene in a matter, when God wants to sort out the situation within the world of men, he raises men to begin to give petitions the same way we levy petitions to the House of Parliament and so on and so forth in order for them to put hands in a matter that can sometimes be, you know, extra law. It's the same way our intercessions are like petitions that we place before the throne of God to intervene in a particular matter.

From what you're describing, you know, it's quite clear that there's an intercessory gift calling that you have that is very expedient for you to explore very deeply and become very faithful in. Not a thing that is passive, but looking at it like a job that God gives to one.

The Bible teaches us about Anna the prophetess, who spent 80 years in the temple interceding for Christ to enter the world. Many don't realize that if not for the intercessions of Anna and people who were of her intercessory class at that time, if not for their cry for a savior of the magnitude of Jesus to enter the world, he would not have been able to enter.

Because when we study the Bible, we see it throughout the scriptures that before God sends a savior to a people, the people must first of all cry out. Because if a people do not need a deliverer, if a deliverer comes, they will reject him. So, every time God keeps a remnant to himself that will always cry out, Maranatha, Lord, come into this matter. So, God always has a legal right to enter into the world of men.

So, from what you're describing, there's a strong intercessory call upon your life that is worthy of exploring, you see. If images of people you know, even images of people you don't know, sometimes God can make you pray for someone you never met before. You don't have to even know the person

I know of a particular lady; God told her to pray for some musician, and like there are all kinds of things that can happen, we don't necessarily have to know the people. But one thing is for sure: the prophetic gift is what I can liken to a muscle; it gets better and stronger the more we use it. And the more you begin to exercise yourself in that place of intercession, you'll realize the more God will begin to minister to you that way.

Iit's something that you should take very seriously and be very intentional about practicing. And as you do so, a lot of your visions will become clearer and clearer and clearer. So, the first thing I'll say to you is to be very intentional in interceding, in intercession, right? When burdens start to come upon your heart, even if it's very light, begin to pray, and you'll discover the more you act in obedience in that regard, little by little, that aspect of yourself will begin to expand and grow, and things will become clearer and clearer, and stronger and stronger.

Your question is very big, and I'm just trying so hard within a few minutes to answer a question that requires a long teaching, amen. But I'll say this: intercession is two things, supplication and action, or better said, intercession is prayer and obedience.

To intercede is not just about praying for something to come to pass. To intercede is also doing, carrying out actions that are in accordance with that thing coming to pass. There may be times when God will specifically give us things to do; for example, one is interceding for your marriage or your child. It's not enough to intercede, saying, "Oh Lord, let my marriage be well, let my child be well," but your actions that would lead to that wellness are a part of your intercession.

So, for example, you're interceding for your child that the child will do well in school, hiring a lesson teacher, or being intentional about, "Oh, let me see your homework" or "How can I help you here?" That is also a part of your intercession for that child. And you see, when it comes to prayer, whenever we carry out an action that is in resonance with that thing that we prayed for, that action becomes a portal through which the reality of that prayer can enter into the world.

When you pray, for example, for your child to be well or for something, maybe you have a family member that you're fighting; when you pray for it, and if perchance you have an opportunity to talk to them, your words will have a lot more weight because they are coming from a long time of intercession.

I'm right now reminded of Nehemiah and how the Bible teaches about how the gates of Israel were broken down and their walls were destroyed, and the Bible talked about how he prayed for three months before going to meet with the king. So he prayed, but he still went to meet the king, but you see, because there was so much prayer that had gone down when he spoke to the king, it looked like, oh, he just spoke to the king, and he found favor; the king just allowed him and his people to go back and build their land. No, there was intercession that went down.

So sometimes, when we pray for something, God can provide us with an opportunity to carry out an action that is in alignment with that prayer, and you'll find that when we do so, that action will be more efficacious. Amen, amen.

So don't trivialize these visions. I'll say just start to pray, you know. It's through the exercise that it starts to open up. Very soon it'll be dreams; there'll be direct things; promptings in your heart. It is a muscle that will grow, but don't worry; these are things I'm going to talk about a lot in the course. Your question is very big; I'm just struggling because I don't want to make this voice note too long.

Number two, why do we fall asleep sometimes while trying to meditate? Is it a lack of discipline? It is a lack of discipline and also a lack of training because, um, your body is not yet used to you relaxing so much whilst being conscious. So, it'll take practice; it is more of a practice thing than an indiscipline thing. Even though, yeah, if we're not disciplined, we'll just say we want to meditate, but we're sleeping. It is a practice thing, right?

In meditation, one of the things you want to do is bring the body to a state of rest where the body is no longer an obstacle, and it's very easy for you as a consciousness, as a spirit being, to abandon the body for a moment, right? So in the beginning, it is a very strange experience for the body because it's used to sleeping off and knocking you out when it's tired, but it's possible for the body to be knocked out but for you to be very conscious and cognizant, so it is a practice thing, but these are things we're going to talk about; don't worry.

For number three, are kids eight to ten years old mature enough to learn meditation? Yes, one of the things I'm going to teach on Saturday is that the word meditation is a blanket term; it covers a whole array of things. For example, um, um, you have a child; they have a closet full of 40 clothes, 20 clothes, 10 clothes; a simple meditational practice is reducing their options, right? Okay, here, Olumide, pick one out of these three clothes, you understand? Or if they are on the playground, take one particular toy at a time. This is because one of the aspects of meditation is teaching people how to focus and sustain attention on a particular thing for some time.

So, any age can learn meditation, but the form varies according to each age and each stage of cognitive development or whatnot. So, kids can learn meditation, but at that age, it takes a different form. Again, these are things that we're going to talk about in-depth as we proceed. I hope this helps you.
